By default, this item transfers video in 4:3 format. However, if you attend your iPad 2's settings menu, you'll simply modification this to 16:9. Mirroring isn't supported on the initial iPad, or the iPhone or iPod bit. In my previous review I rated this product with one *. maybe i used to be a bit harsh. I simply wish to form it clear to folks that may be buying this item for the incorrect reason. Apple states on their web site that this product supports ""video out on the iPhone four and iPod bit (4th Gen)"". However, they're not clear in stating it solely supports video via sure choose apps (iPod videos app, iMovie). It doesn't support video output for third party apps like VLC, Plex or the other app. as a result of Apple isn't clear in stating that this product solely supports video out from sure apps, I cannot rate this product five stars. However, if a buyer is considering buying this item for an iPad a pair of, it's a wonderful accent.
