Here goes. I even have an imaginative Kindle and a DX and i have had an iPad for one week. i really like all, however the iPad has won me over. Here's what I've experienced therefore far: VERSATILITY - Apps, movies, music, pictures, effective web connectivity, color show, very intuitive GUI all mix to form iPad the hands down winner during this class. DISPLAY - E Ink is way higher for reading, particularly in bright lightweight. And, the matte screen on the Kindle does not smudge as simply because the iPad screen. However, the iPad features a beautiful color show and once you get at home with it, reading isn't troublesome. I particularly just like the backlit show in the dark when reading in bed ... I will browse to my hearts content and not trouble my sleeping wife. Slip on the headphones and my full iTunes library is offered whereas I browse. If you would like a tool solely to browse books, the Kindle wins. If you would like color and a show that shows book diagrams and photos clearly, the iPad wins. PAGE INTERFACE - I truly like turning pages on the Kindle far better than I do on the iPad.
